New Zealand Has NZ$6.35 Billion Current Account Deficit

New Zealand posted a current account deficit of NZ$6.35 billion in the third quarter of 2019, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday.

That missed expectations for a deficit of NZ$6.318 billion following the NZ$1.106 billion shortfall in the three months prior.

The current account/GDP ratio was down 3.3 percent on year - beating forecasts for a decline of 3.4 percent, which would have been unchanged.

New Zealand's primary income deficit was NZ$2.2 billion in the September 2019 quarter, NZ$159 million smaller than the June quarter.
