The manufacturing sector in Thailand slipped into contraction territory in January, the latest survey from IHS Markit revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 49.9.
That's down sharply from 50.1 in December, and it moves beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Individually, there was only a subdued rise in both production volumes and new order books, while purchasing activity was broadly unchanged.
Input stocks declined, while business confidence was muted regarding the outlook for the year ahead.
