At 1.45 am ET Friday, the Swiss jobless data is due from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs. The unemployment rate is forecast to remain unchanged at 2.3 percent in July.
Ahead of the data, the franc held steady against its major counterparts.
The franc was worth 0.9737 against the greenback, 108.82 against the yen, 1.0903 against the euro and 1.1824 against the pound as of 1:40 am ET.
