The manufacturing sector in Australia continued to expand in September, and at a faster rate, the latest survey from IHS Markit showed on Thursday with a manufacturing PMI score of 55.4.
That's up from 53.6 in August and it moves further above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Individually, there were further increases in jobs and new orders, while there was job growth for the first time in 10 months.
Sentiment was at its strongest since early 2019.
